Innate immunity peptides are used throughout nature in a wide range of roles. This endows them, as a technology platform, with attributes beneficial to pharmaceutical applications. Such attributes include potent cidal antibiotic activity, activity in biological environments, lack of irritation and sensitization, stability and modulatory activities. Through this development process we have reduced the cost of manufacturing of certain bioactive peptides to such an extent that they now have significant potential in consumer products, in the areas of skin care, personal hygiene, biocides and animal health.
