The utility of peptides in skin care products has become increasingly evident over the past few years. Due to ease with which parameters such as solubility, skin penetration, irritation and activity can be modified, by sequence variation, the industry has turned to this technology base. Helix BioMedix has developed a number of peptides capable of stimulating aspects of the skin’s innate ability to regenerate. In human panel testing peptides have demonstrated an ability in a simple formulation to reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eyes, without the irritation associated with certain retinoid-based products.

In addition, the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and stimulatory properties of the Company’s peptides are being developed for other skin care applications such as inclusion in anti-acne and deodorant products. In collaboration with other companies we have initiated human panel testing in these areas.
